The New Sunday Ritual: Curry Pie Club
In Newcastle, the pie is more than just a meal, it’s a piece of the city’s soul. From the Quayside to the Grainger Market, generations have been fueled by handcrafted pies - the original vessel for comfort. Every Sunday at Khai Khai, we’re honouring that Geordie tradition with a new take on a classic.
Classic Indian comfort food, wrapped in gold.
Born in smoke and served in pastry, Curry Pie Club brings together the bold flavours of Indian cuisine with the heritage of the British pie. At Khai Khai, our slow-cooked, fire-led dishes are encased in a buttery, handcrafted crust, layered with gently spiced potatoes and baked to a perfect, shatteringly crisp finish.
On the Curry Pie Club menu:
Old Delhi Butter Chicken
Our signature smoky, velvety chicken, reimagined in a golden shell.
Lamb Roganjosh
Tender, heritage lamb braised until melting, sealed in pastry.
Vegetable Jalfrezi (vegan)
A vibrant mix of seasonal vegetables in a bold, spiced tomato base.
Kheema Matar
Spiced minced lamb with petit pois, garlic, and chilli - a punchy, savoury delight.
Paneer Butter Masala (v)
Homemade paneer and spiced potatoes in a creamy makhani sauce.
Each pie is served the proper way: with crisp chips, seasonal vegetables or masala crushed peas, and a jug of our rich, spice-infused gravy.
Available every Sunday at Khai Khai.
Rooted in heritage. Made for indulgence.
The comfort you know, with the smoke play you love.
